Significance of performing Hajj

After, Shahadah (Faith), Salaah (5 daily prayers), Zakah (Charity in the month of Ramadan), Saum (Fasting), Hajj is the final pillar of Islam which may not be mandatory, yet obligatory upon those who are financially sound enough to perform it. Hajj pilgrimage leads to wiping of all sins and starting your life anew. Prophet Muhammed P.B.U.H said regarding this very important obligation -

Sahih al-Bukhari 1522, Book 25, Hadith 10

Narrated Abu Huraira (RA):

The Prophet (P.B.U.H) said, "Whoever performs Hajj for Allah's pleasure and does not have sexual relations with his wife, and does not do evil or sins then he will return (after Hajj, free from all sins) as if he were born anew."

Sunan an-Nasa'i 2625, Book 24

Abu Hurairah (RA) said:

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'The guests of Allah are three: The ghazi, the Haji (Hajj Pilgrim) and the Mu'tamir'"

Millions of people across the globe perform Hajj every year and commemorate the sunnah of Prophet Ibrahim (P.B.U.H)--Sacrifice in the path of ALLAH SWT--which is also the sunnah of our Prophet Muhammed (P.B.U.H). May ALLAH SWT accept your Hajj this year, Aameen.
